Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level Examination, often referred to as SSC CGL is an examination conducted to recruit staff to various posts in ministries, departments and organisations of the Government of India. It is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for selecting staff for various Group B and Group C posts. The Staff Selection Commission was established in 1975
Structure of the Exam
Tier 1 is the Preliminary Exam. It consists of 100 questions of 200 marks, 25 each from GK, Maths, English and Logical Reasoning. The main aim of this section is to select some 1–1.5 lakh top aspirants from a vast pool of 30+ lakh applicants. Yes, marks are counted for final merit.
Tier 2 is the Main stage where the real competition starts. It is the battle of getting into top ranks. 400 marks are up for grabs. It is a game changer.
